for everyone
Zahra will turn 7 this august. and i was a bit worried about the fact that none of her teeth had fallen off yet. but last month, she developed a new habit. she liked to bite things. it was really annoying. so i checked inside her mouth, turned out there was a tooth eruption behind her front tooth. my mom in law said that sometimes it happens to little children. and it means the front tooth needs to be removed, otherwise it will cause a double teeth which will be literally fazing the appearence of zahra's teeth in the future. so i managed an appoinment with a dentist nearby our residence.

in my phone call to the dentist, i've told the dentist that zahra is an autistic. the dentist said that she'd like to try as long as i'm certain that zahra is quite a coorporative one. i told her a little bit about zahra's recent progress and she finally agreed to try to see if she can handle zahra's case.

alhamdulillah. everything went well. inspite of the fact that there were a little screaming, crying and grumpying on zahra's part, in general things were going fine. there was actually a minor incident. as the dentist was going to give zahra the anesthesia, zahra seemed to be so scared. and she ran to my lap and kept rejecting the dentist. then i tried the conventional trick, i went sitting on the dental chair, then i asked her to sit on my lap and sang some barney songs which have lyrics that require the singers (zahra and me) do some mouth opening.  as she got calmer, i asked her to open her mouth and gave the sign to the dentist to give the injection. zahra was shocked. but no cryings. and the dentist right away, pull out the front tooth. alhamdulillah it didnt take long. less then 10 second, the tooth got taken off. phew!

the dentist said that the abnormal position of the new erupt tooth will move to the right position with a little help. by the help means, i should give a gentle tooth-pulling with my fingger for zahra as often as i can. the duty gave me a new habit. i started to pull out the tooth anytime i can, and surprisingly, zahra kind of enjoyed those tooth pulling out moments. lol

and alhamdulillah in 2 weeks, the tooth moved to the place where it was supposed to be. it's an exciting experience. and to make it unforgetable, i keep the tooth in a box. maybe someday i'll show it to her when she's a grown up and tell her about the awkward situation she'd put us into. it'll be fun! :-p
