it's my daughter zahra..she
just turned 7 last august. and you know how fast children grow..it's
like in a blink they suddenly have become teens..
either to the
girls and the boys, they'll have their own particular religion
consequencies. for instance, for the muslim girls, at certain age, their
religion ordered them to veil up (put on hejab/covering).
as
a mom with a daughter, i've been concerning about this matter since
long. not to mention, my kid has her own difficulties. as a kid with
autism disorder, she has issue with the sensory. let alone to put the
hejab on her head..i could barely decorate her hair with any kind of
ribbon on her head when she was younger.
but
2 months before her 7th birthday, i decided to get her used to hejab by
always putting hejab on her whenever we go outside. it was a battle at
first, really. i put the hejab on her and not less than 5 minutes she
took it off..it kept going like that for weeks..
but
the mercy from Allah just never stops. on eid day we were having a
gathering with relatives. as we all have understood, the mahrams from
the opposite gender of us are only our siblings, beside our parents and
other certain people (u can have a look in surah annisa, 24;31 for a better explanation). so, eventhough we are all relatives, but many of us are non mahram to others.
me
and my family were hosting the gathering. and when the first guest
came, it was my hubby's uncle and his sons, zahra wasnt wearing her
hejab yet. and in hurry, zahra ran to her room and put on her hejab
before she came back in the living room and met the guests...it's
completely beyond our expectation.. it looks like slightly she seems to
understand the concept of covering..alhamdulillah..
i'm really proud of her :)
